Craft Club Challenge - 30th April 2012

Steampunk Style

What is this all about, I hear you ask!  Well, its a trend or creative style of artwork which can be used on also on papercraft projects.

Full definition of Steampunk   Click here.

Basically this art form is based on industrial metal work such as cogs, clock parts including the face and hands, washers, chains, studs and includes a victorian influence such as images...hot air balloons, victorian figures, victorian machinery....with an anitque and vintage  feel.

So, here's my example, its fairly basic but it gives you the flavour of the artform:

Here are some of the equipment which will be available to help you create this weeks project and I have a lovely selection of papers also to help you.   If you want to go with my theme and the papers I have available bring black and cream cardstock if you have it and the componements listed below.

The Challenge:

Create a card or project using this artform.

Include:
  •  either faux or real vintage metal work.
  • A key, either card or real.
  • a chain
  • an old piece of jewellry or beads
  • other components to give the victorian vintage feel.
Have fun and I will catch up with you at the club.  Don't forget to send in photos of your lovely  craft projects ....I have lots of new photos to go in the Crafters Gallery shortly.
