Craft Club Challenge - 20th August 2012

Shaking for Christmas

This weeks challenge is again on the christmas theme and we are tackling the shaker style cards.  I say tackling....but it is not a chore these are delightful to make.

Once the technique is mastered you can go on to create shaker decorations for the christmas tree and loads more projects.

(click photo once to enlarge) Here I have created a
double shaker panel for the card (the star is a shaker
with gold sequins and clear beads and thee square
aperture is a shaker with just beads)

Criteria:

Create a card or a craft project using the shaker technique.  You will need:

  • Card stock
  • Acetate
  • Double sided tape and foam tape on a reel.
  • Small seed beads, micro beads, confetti or fake snow
  • Christmas papers and toppers/decorations.
Here are some more samples:
Notice the Memory Box snowflake has been cut down and rearranged to create a smaller snowflake.

Here I used Distress ink in pine needles with an Anna Griffin holly frame stamp but I just used the Holly part of the stamp.

This is one where I used the main part of the card as the shaker and not just a topper.

I hope you have fun creating these shaker cards....I can't wait to see what you come up with!
