Craft Club Challenge 18th February 2013

Another week, another crafty challenge...still keeping in the arty side of craft I thought it would be an idea to show you a few techniques with stencils, inks, cheap poster paints, glue etc

You will need:
  • Smooth card or paper to stencil onto, any inks you have such as pigment or distress inks, spritzer inks such as cosmic shimmer glimmer mists if you have any, perfect pearl or mica powders (shimmery eye shadow will do the trick as well!)
  • Base greeting card  to mount up your printed panel or your project support such as a scrapbook page or photo frame etc
  • Baby wipes
  • PVA glue
  • You can also bring some man made fabric such as Nylon and I will show you how to make the rose too.
I will have lots of stencils here for your to use....here's an idea of what you can do...not as good as I would like as not feeling too good today as I am having a bit of pain with a neck injury....more painkillers needed I think!
(Click Once to enlarge)
5 stencils were used to create this panel and a variety of methods were used....note the heart is stenciled flat against the panel and slits were made to accommodate the ribbon behind the heart to give more depth.  Forgive the pun but my heart wasn't in crafting this morning but I am looking forward to crafting with the girls tomorrow and the rest of the week.
The rose was created from and old piece of lining fabric and wrinkled/contorted to add the texture needed to bring this panel to life.

All of these card printed panels were made from cheep pieces of white low quality card, lots of inking techniques with stencils and beautiful organza flowers made from scraps of fabric and recycled buttons....so refreshing to create something original and bespoke.  If you enlarge the images you will see the lovely crazed effect on the card which really adds to the finished effect.

If you are in South Essex and would like to learn these techniques give me a call, I would love to hear from you. (The contact details are on the tab above)

Happy crafting and have a great day!
