Craft Club Challenge - 11th February 2013

Just got the electricity back on after being without power for 10 hours....in this freezing weather my feet are now without feeling, the nose is red and fingers have seized up so haven't even been able to craft....shocking I hear you cry, yes indeed it is quite shocking not being able to craft when I have so much to do!  The heating has just clicked on and the sense of frustration has now dissipated.....giving way to a frenzy of urgent crafting and meeting deadlines!

The Craft Club Challenge this week is to create a card or craft project using a brayer if you have one or shadow stamps if not.

Here is my first offering: (including the pretty corner flourish stamp by IndigoBlu)

I will show you how to get the most from a brayer or block shadow stamp and use a variety of techniques, using other craft equipment.

You will need:

Plenty of smooth card stock to ink on, embossing powders, gems and accents and a base greeting card or something as a base for a project such as a smooth photo frame, a box to be revamped etc.

.....here are some of the end results of our sessions this week:-

I love the delicate lace imprint on the "Friends are kisses" panel, created from a real piece of lace and the brayer!
The panel with the phone and pen on was printed using the brayer and bubble wrap.
Hope you like my elastic band printed background....pretty funky eh!
....and here are a load of backgrounds created using embossing folders, inks and a brayer.
These pretty positive and negative printed pieces look great together and especially when the ink is a bit patchy which makes it look a bit worn which adds to the character of the end result.

I have had a fantastic week using the brayer and getting inky and arty and looking forward to the next arty instalment.
