Our first week back after my holiday and I thought I would ease you in gently with something I love to do....recycling. It is great to be able to take our old cards and create something new, something beautiful for a fraction of the cost.
We will be using some great new dies...the poinsettia die, delicate latice, some great fancy square nesting dies, alphabet dies and I have loads of old Christmas cards from last year for you to recycle.
Here are a couple of samples:
(Click one to enlarge)
The red paper used on the above card was an old envelope...The silver snowflake panel came from an old card and the snowflakes where cut from the back of cards.
This was such a simple flat card and has been die cut and a lattice panel added then the wreath has been die cut again and mounted onto green and cut around with scissors.
Here are some more samples:
I used every part of a card for the above recycled result...the frame and panel with the hanging decorations came from the back of the card and the white text panel neatly hid the makers name which was printed above the baubles.
The yellow and grey piece was a tal narrow card which already had the ribbon on and the Merry Christmas tag...I simply lengthened the piece by adding in a trellis panel in the centre and the poinsetta was made from some old tracing paper which had discoloured to a cream finish.
I didn't want to lose the text which was on the front of the original card so I used a technique we used recently at the club to die cut keeping this piece in tact.
You will need to bring:
- Your basil equipment and your base greeting cards
- any old cards or recycled materials you want to use (I have loads here)
- Gold or silver Mirri card is always useful
- Old recycled accents, gems, glitter glue etc
Really looking forward to seeing you all.
