Craft Club Challenge 19th March 2012

My Monday Craft Challenge is unfortunately a day late....bad girl!!!

This one gives you lots of options.  Just study the photograph and create a card or craft project in some way relating to the photo.  It could be just based on colours or it could be based on just the content.  It could also be based on a memory...the first thing that comes to mind when you see the Photo.

I thought of the French lavender fields that then took me to memories of our holiday and here's what I came up with:

(Click on photo to enlarge)  I hope you like my card. I have used air dried lavender which is 3D and still smells beautiful and included a stunning piece of lace ribbon which reminded me of fine crisp white bed linen where we stayed.  I have taken the Eiffel tower picture from the internet and printed it onto script paper (you must not sell images taken from  internet unless it is copyright free.)  My inspration for the vase and inprinted seal came from the rusty metal of the crown .  The vase was punched from black card run throught the cuttlebug with an embossing folder then waxed using metallic rub-ons.  I must say that creating the seal was a real pleasure and one of great anticipation.  I used hot melt glue stick melted onto a heat resistant craft sheet then inked a stamp with pigment ink and stamped it into the hot glue. (you must leave it a minute or 2 to cool down before you peel the stamp from the glue)  I then tinted the seal using a black Peel-off pen (any alchohol permanent pen will do) then rubbed over with the metallic rub-on wax....et Voila!

My photo above is a removable docorated vellum lavender bag (which was machine sewn together) with holes in the back to allow the scent to drift out. The black clasp was attached using an eylet and the ends of the ribbon were threaded from front to back with a stick looped on the front. A lovely gift for a friend to use!

Don't forget to submit your finished design so we can all take a peek!
