Ooooh its that time again....our Craft Club Challenge.
Criteria:
Create a card or project using a stencil. You can use a shop bought one or make one yourself...find a simple outline...eg a bird, butterfly, flower...which is easy to identify if you imagine it blacked out in the centre (a silhouette) trace it onto card , cut out the centre and use ink, paint or clear pigment ink then chalk or any other medium you like.
Colour Theme: A burst of citrus!
Here's what I came up with (click once to enlarge)
I cut a pear shaped stencil and inked with Distress inks (I know it's not citrus...I went for the citrus colours) then stencilled again, added a bit of rubber stamping and a touch of embossing ink and powder on the right side to give a bit of depth then cut it out and layered it on the original with 3D foam pads. The backing paper was my inspiration for a small round stencil which I inked for the greetings placque. To finish off I punched a butterfly out of copy paper inked over in gold pigment and embossed with gold powder, the top part of the wings were carefully cut with a craft knife to lift over the placque.
Another example of stencilling below although it is not the citrus theme. The shapes for the cake and candle were drawn seperately then cut out of acetate to make the stencil then chalked on the card. The flower shape is a punched stencil.
Stencils are very effective and I hope you like them.
Have a greatday!
