This weeks challenge is our starting point in the run up to Christmas! "Too soon ...too soon"... I hear you cry but the fact is that the festive period will be upon us in the blink of an eye and this year I am determined to be ready and organised. (I hope!)
The criteria:
So the challenge is to make a Winters' Wreath, which can be a full 3D wreath or just a wreath on a card.
You can use any method you like...such as a ribbon wreath(eg ribbons or fabric strips tied to a wire circle or stuck to card and embellished, die cut leaves or even hand cut leaves (they are not hard to do and a template for several types of leaves will make the job simple and fast) pine cones, winter flowers...pumpkin images will be great for Halloween. (remember to bring your materials and PVA and or a hot glue gun may be useful.)
This is an open challenge with no limitations...use what you like. You may even find a use for those materials that have been hiding at the back of the cupboard.
I will make sure there are Leaf dies and punches are available at this weeks craft club and the full range of circle cutters. I even have a lovely new rubber stamp set to go into our club stash.

I used a silver metallic material in the above card like angel hair/fibres which has been in my drawer for about 4 years....it's so easy to forget what you have.
I have embossed a clock face onto velvet taupe card stock on the above card which gives the centre of the wreath an additional dimension of interest. The vellum pre-printed sentiment was attached to a strip of clear acetate with brads which has a concertinaed tab at each end which was attached to the card...this technique gives depth but can be flattened for postage.

This is one of my Rag Wreaths made from an old piece of electrical wire (a wire coat hanger will do), an old shirt and shells washed up by the River Crouch (which were washed and bleached) and pearls from an old neckless. Not a winters wreath... granted...(just didn't have time this week to get one made) But I thought it would be great to show you a sample of the 3D wreath options.
Another wreath made from an old pin stripe black shirt with the hearts made from layers of mount board and hand painted and finally the red ribbon recycled from the side of a birthday cake.
Have a lovely week
