Craft Club Challenge - 15th October 2012

A Gift for Christmas
Before I talk about the challenge I'd just thought I'd let you know we have 2 more lovely die's going into our equipment area for you to use each week....I hope you are as chuffed as me ...they really are lovely to use and so versatile:  (the bird cage die is mean enough to cut through thick greyboard and the pleated flower die is the one I have been using in the last few weeks on the challenge projects.

And now for the challenge...We are fast approaching the busy Christmas period and I thought that I would throw out a challenge to help save you a bit of money.  This was a challenge which was brought to my attention last week by Maureen (one of our Craft Club Ladies) and was a free standing note holder she saw in a magazine.  It was a lovely idea but a bit difficult to complete based on the instructions given. I will be demonstrating how to make this at the Craft Club this week and hope you will join me.

Criteria of Challenge:

Create a gift for Christmas ....any gift ...and creatively decorate it incorporating the following:

  • Ribbon
  • A tag/tags
  • 3D flowers (handmade or shop bought)
  • Include Embossing Powder or Glitter
  • Include something Metal
  • Include something you would find in the Bin (eg recycled)
Your project could be creative packaging for something you have made such as homemade jam or chutney or a decorated MDF/wooden blank such as a letter rack or an upcycled memories box filled with personal gifts such as photos, a dvd with films/videos/photos on, scented soaps lavender bags etc...or even a scrapbooked mini book filled with creative pages ready for photos to be glued in.

Here is my Note Holder which is easy to do and a great little gift for someones home or office...it is not quite finished all the embellishments have to go on but I wanted to get this challenge on the blog asap so you could see the sort of thing we are doing  (I will up-date the photo as soon as its done.)

By the time this is finished it will be a great gift.

Happy crafting.
