I know that metal stencils have been around for a long time now and I guess we have all resorted to leaving them in a bottom drawer...unloved and unused, especially since the introduction of the die cutting machines and dies. Well, this is the time to get those dusty old stencils out and have a bit of fun with them. Last week we recapped on how to emboss with them using a cuttlebug machine and/or a light box and ball tool and this week we are using them in a more creative manor.
For those who are ready for an additional challenge, as you know my stencils are of a more whimsical contemporary design and so I challenge you to create a project with a more shabby chic vintage feel using the stencils now in our stash. Here is my card:
I will be demonstrating using the stencils with a variety of products and so if you have any of these and you wish to bring them with you that will give you more scope to play...and remember for those who want a little bit more of a challenge think Vintage!
- PVA Glue
- Embossing powders
- Pigment inks
- Mica Powders
- Guilding flakes
- Pan Pastels or chalks
- Glitter ( contrasting colours)
- Modelling paste (you can use crack filler for walls!!!)
- Thin metal sheet
- Polymer clay... I will have out my molds as used on the above card
- Alcohol inks
- Base card stock if you are making a card and cream/white or black/brown card would also be a good idea
All the above sounds like a great session of messy play...so really looking forward to this weeks crafting.
