Craft Club Challenge - 12th November 2012

Christmas gifts and gift wrapping.

When the purse begins to squeeze under the pressure of Christmas, especially in these difficult times, making gifts and creating special wrapped parcels and boxes provide that special touch which retailers offer in the luxury end of their business....so why not do it yourself and give gifts with that luxury feel no matter how small or inexpensive the present.

This photo is uninspiring, I know, but... with a little creativity I have five small inexpensive gifts plus some recycled card used boxes....and now off to work for me.

As you can see these gifts have not been adorned with lots of die cuts as I know not everyone has them (the blue snowflake was bought some time ago and is a laser cut shape but you can use parts from old Christmas cards.)

The next batch of packaging and gifts will show more die cut pieces but my motto at this time of year is, as you know, "keep it simple" and "quick and easy".
It's amazing what you can do with a recycled container which would normally be  thrown away! A bit of decoration and now I have a gift box for the soft slippers shown in the main photo which are now rolled and fit perfectly in my gift box.

I love how easy it is to cover a small bar of chocolate to go on the dinner table or hung on a Christmas tree...this mini bar of chocolate has been over wrapped with created paper and embellished with ribbons and accents.

If you fancy getting involved at the craft club bring some Christmas papers gold/silver card stock, old boxes
or any small gifts such as home made jam or chutney, small notebooks, candles and accents such as ribbon beads etc (if you have a gift such as my soft fold up slippers make sure you have a box that they will fit in....not too large).

If this is something that is not your thing then you are welcome to continue with your Christmas cards...I will have the stamps we used last week out again but this is the last week they will be out.

Have fun and look forward to seeing you soon.
